The agogwe (Parvusvirsimiae cuprum, name meaning “copper small man ape”) is a species of ape closely related to chimpanzees and hominids that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii and introduced to the rainforests, wetlands, forests, and open woodlands throughout Africa to help boost biodiversity. Agogwe are fully bipedal, and excel at creating tools using materials from their surroundings. They spend the majority of their lives on the ground, living in small family groups of 2-7. Their hair is typically reddish or copper-coloured, but can be white, grey, or black. They are diurnal, and spend the night in trees or caves, huddling together for warmth on particularly cold nights. Agogwe are omnivores, with a preference for plant matter. Groups of agogwe have been known to initiate “trades” with nearby towns and villages, placing an item in a high-traffic area, then waiting nearby until someone leaves another item in exchange. Humans and other sapient species have learned how agogwe trades work and where the trading takes place, forming mutually beneficial relationships. While intelligent, agogwe are not sapient. The agogwe’s conservation status is Near Threatened due to historic poaching, but the agogwe’s numbers are slowly increasing due to the agogwe’s wide range and distrust of outsiders.
