American chough

The American chough (Pyrrhocorax ohiohensis) is a species of passerine bird in the crow family, most closely related to the red-billed chough (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax), that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii and introduced throughout the rainforests, wetlands, forests, open woodlands, grasslands, shrublands, and scrublands across North America to help boost biodiversity. The American chough has glossy black plumage, a long curved black bill, grey legs, and a loud, ringing call, identical to the red-billed chough's calls. It has a buoyant acrobatic flight with widely spread primaries. The American chough pairs for life and displays fidelity to its breeding site, which is usually a cave or crevice in a cliff face. It builds a wool-lined stick nest and lays five eggs. It feeds, often in flocks, on short grazed grassland, taking mainly invertebrate prey. The conservation status of the American chough is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts, the American chough's wide range and its tolerance to many of the human activities.
