American fork-marked lemur

The American fork-marked lemur (Neophaner psudeopithecoides) is a species of Adapiforme strepsirrhine primate, despite its name, that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii and introduced throughout the rainforests, forests, swamps, and open woodlands across North America to help boost biodiversity. It largely resembles an Eulemur lemur (including common brown lemurs, etc), but is generally smaller in size, growing to be about the size of the pale fork-marked lemur (Phaner pallescens), only around 350 grams (12 oz) or more. It is named for the two black stripes which run up from the eyes, converge on the top of the head, and run down the back as a single black stripe. The American fork-marked lemur has a specialized diet of tree gums, sap, and leaves, being a nocturnal herbivore, it sleeps in tree holes and nests during the day, only to wake up to forage at night. Males have a scent gland on their throat, but only use it during social grooming, not for marking territory. Instead, they are very vocal, making repeated calls at the beginning and end of the night. Monogamous pairing is typical for American fork-marked lemurs, and females are dominant. Females have only one or two offspring every 1.7-2 years. The conservation status of the American fork-marked lemur is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts, the American fork-marked lemur's wide range and its tolerance to many of the human activities.
