American patas lemur (SciiFii)

The American patas lemur (Terralemurpithecus patas) is a species of Adapiforme strepsirrhine primate, despite its name, that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii and introduced throughout the open woodlands, grasslands, shrublands, and scrublands across North America to help boost biodiversity. The American patas lemur grows on average to be 60 centimeters (24 inches) to 87 centimeters (34 inches) in length, excluding the tail, which can measure about 75 centimeters (30 inches). Reaching speeds of 55 km/h (34 mph), it is one of the fastest runners among the quadrupedal primates. The American patas lemur feeds on insects, gum, seeds, and tubers, a diet more characteristic of much smaller primates. The American patas lemur lives in multi-female groups of up to 50 individuals (although much larger aggregations have been reported). The group contains just one adult male for most of the year. During the breeding season, there are multi-male influxes into the group. Once juvenile males reach sexual maturity (around the age of four years) they leave the group, usually joining all-male groups. The adult females in the group initiate movement of the group with the male following their lead. The conservation status of the American patas lemur is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts, the American patas lemur's wide range and its tolerance to many of the human activities.
