American rainbow stick insect (SciiFii)

The American rainbow stick insect (Phryganistria arcus) is a species of stick insect, most closely related to Phryganistria tamdaoensis of Southeast Asia, that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii and introduced throughout the rainforests, wetlands, forests, open woodlands, and wooded shrublands of southeastern and southern North America to help boost biodiversity. The American rainbow stick insect is named for its vibrant colors consisting of a yellow-green or golden body and dark red bands on its legs and head. The American rainbow stick insect is one of the smallest species of giant sticks, measuring only 23 centimeters long on average. The American rainbow stick insect is a herbivore and primarily feeds on leaves, fruits, and nectar. The American rainbow stick insect females lay between 80 and 110 eggs individually and fling them in to the air where they land on the ground and hatch in the soil. The eggs hatch around 4 months later and they become sexually mature around a year later. The average lifespan of the American rainbow stick insect is between 1 and 2 years, however, some individuals have been known to live almost 4 years. The conservation status of the American rainbow stick insect is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts, the American rainbow stick insect's wide range and its tolerance to many of the human activities.
