A chesnaught (Piscinarmatus pokevus) is a species of large armadillo that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii due to demands for real life Pokémon-like animals from Pokémon fans. However, due to careless pet owners releasing chesnaughts into the wilderness, the chesnaughts now live throughout the rainforests, swamps, forests, open woodlands, and grasslands of Japan, North America, and South America. The chesnaught can grow to be around the same size as the giant armadillo (Priodontes maximus), weighing on average about 18.7–32.5 kg (41–72 lb) when fully grown, however, specimens of around 54-80 kg (119-180 lb) have been weighed in captivity. It is a solitary and nocturnal animal, spending the day in burrows. The chesnaught also burrows to escape predators, being unable to completely roll into a protective ball due to its shell design and its spikes. Chesnaughts use their large front claws to dig for prey and rip open termite mounds. The diet is mainly composed of termites, ants, worms, spiders, other invertebrates, fruits, roots, and tubers. At most of its time, it stands and walks on all fours, but when confronting danger, it can stand on its back legs and lash out its strong claws, and if that doesn't work, it runs away quickly on its back legs to escape danger. The conservation status of the chesnaught is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts, the chesnaught's wide range, and its tolerance to most of human activities, including being able to flourish and adapt to life in the cites and suburbs.
