The domestic cat lemur (Lemur familiaris), also known as the domestic ringtail lemur, is a species of lemur that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii due to demand for more pet animal species. The closest living relative of the domestic cat lemur is the ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta), hence both of its common names. Unlike wild ring-tailed lemurs, however, the domestic cat lemurs are much more adaptable to a wider range of habitats and can feed on a wider assortment of insects and plants. There are more than 200 breeds of domestic cat lemurs that are bred across the world, ranging from about the size of a small rabbit to the largest breeds that are about the size of an medium-sized dog. The domestic cat lemur is one of the most popular primates as pets, due to being easy to keep, train, and care for, along with being largely tame and not too destructive to man-made objects, as well as being able to breed extremely well in captivity.
