The groudon (Ypneiosaurus megathirio) is a species of non-avian carnosaur theropod dinosaur that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii due to demand for real life versions of Pokémon as pets. However, as a result of a minor illegal pet trade and accidental releases, there are feral breeding populations of groudons in Japan and North America, where they are, by all accounts, thriving. The groudon usually stands about 11.6 feet (3.53 meters) tall and 17.1 feet (5.21 meters) long on average, with the weight of around 950 kilograms (2094.4 lbs). The groudon is one of the most bizarre carnosaurs, with its pale-red scaly skin covered in spiky osteoderms, and it also has large forelimbs with three fingers ending in equally large claws for dispatching prey. As a non-avian theropod, it does not make roars due to the lack of a larynx, so it instead makes low-pitch rumbles and booming noises. The groudon is an apex predator that primarily preys on any non-sapient species as large as or smaller than itself. However, the groudon is not a fast animal due to its short hindlegs and its proportions, so it usually hunts prey animals slower than itself. The groudon is also known to feed on termites and carrion of other animals. The groudon is primarily a solitary animal throughout its life outside of breeding seasons. The conservation status of the groudon is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts and the groudon's wide range.
