Jackalopes are lagomorphs of the family Cervusolepidae that are originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii and introduced throughout Eurasia and North America to help boost biodiversity. The jackalopes range from small guinea pig-sized species to one species about the size of a pig, the nuralagus megalocerus (Psudeolagocervus therius), which resembles Nuralagus rex in appearance with Megaloceros-like antlers. The jackalopes are known for having antlers or horns, depending on a species, which are used for defense against predators and for fighting males in an attempt to win a right to mate with females. The jackalopes are very similar in many respects to many species of rabbits and hares in lifestyles and lifecycles (jackalope young of all known species are born almost fully-developed like hares and can run on their own after being born much like jackrabbit young). The jackalopes are all herbivores and many species primarily feed on grasses, shrubs, roots, tubers, vegetables, leaves, and fruits. The conservation status of all known jackalope species is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts, the jackalopes' wide range, their complete immunity to deadly diseases/viruses that would kill rabbits or hares, and their tolerance to most of human activities, including being able to adapt to life in the cities and suburbs. The domestic jackalope was created due to demand for pet jackalopes, and ever since, domestic jackalopes are common household pets and are easy to breed and care for.
