The lunala (Megapteropus pokevus) is a species of bat that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii due to demands for real life Pokémon-like animals from Pokémon fans, and unlike most bat species, lunalas are legal as pets due to not carrying any diseases/viruses, as well as being easy to care for compared with most bats. However, due to careless pet owners releases lunalas to the wilderness, lunalas can now be found throughout Eurasia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, North America, and South America in almost every single habitat. The lunala is among the largest bats in the world, growing to be around 230 to 290 mm from nose-tip to tail-tip, with the weight between 600 and 1000 grams, with an average of 700 grams, and has a wingspan between 138 to 180 mm. The lunala is a herbivore that usually feeds on fruits, flowers, and pollens. Since it does not echolocate, it lacks the leaf-like ornamentation found in many species of Microchiroptera. It relies on smell and, predominately, sight to locate its food (nectar, pollen and native fruits) and thus has relatively large eyes for a bat. The lunala can roost in large groups usually seen resting in trees and some man-made structures. The conservation status of the lunala is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts, the lunala's wide range, and its tolerance to most of human activities, including being able to flourish and adapt to life in the cities and suburbs.
