Norfolk Island kaka (SciiFii)

The Norfolk Island kaka (Nestor productus), or simply known as the Norfolk kaka, is a large colorful parrot. Norfolk Island kakas were once extinct since 1851, but have since been brought back from extinction by SciiFii before reintroducing them back to Norfolk Island near New Zealand, and the parrots are Rare in captivity, even in Cenozoic Park. Norfolk Island kakas are 38 cm long, with mostly olive-brown upperparts, (reddish-)orange cheeks and throat, straw-coloured breast, thighs, rump and lower abdomen dark orange and prominent beaks of any other parrot. It mainly inhabits the rocks and treetops of Norfolk Island and adjacent Phillip Island. The closest living relative of the Norfolk kaka is the New Zealand kaka (Nestor meridionalis). The conservation status of the Norfolk Island kaka is Endangered Because of Invasive Species Habitat Loss and hunting for the pet trade but due to successful conservation efforts the invasive cats rats and foxes have been eradicated and a captive breeding program of them has been established and slowly increasing their population|The Norfolk Island Kaka Ate Blossoms and Nectar from flowers being the only nectar eating New Zealand bird that also feeds on fruit
