New-Species Generation Co, is an independent Canadian bioengineering startup company founded by Robert Welsh, Melissa Pickett, and Jim Donaghy in 2012. The company uses a combination of CG-engineering and germ-line chimeras to breed new species. The species they create are drastically altered from their base genome, as accurate to the fictitious source material and/or palaeontology as possible. The species are created with the intention of exhibition and occasionally as pets to be sold to the public. NuGen also produces so-called “miracle” medicines that can save unstable natural hybrid animals and animals born with conditions such as polycephaly from health problems.
