The Sicilian dwarf elephant (Palaeoloxodon falconeri), also simply known as the pygmy elephant, is one of the smallest elephants, about the size of a domestic pig. Sicilian dwarf elephants were once extinct since the end of the Ice Age, but have since been brought back from extinction by SciiFii before reintroducing them back to Italy. Because of their unique size, the elephants has ended up with a common representation in captivity, even in Cenozoic Park. The conservation status of the Sicilian dwarf elephant is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts. The Sicilian dwarf elephant is such a common animal in captivity due to its smaller size than most other elephants, and domesticated Sicilian dwarf elephants are common pets and some are considered as alternatives to guide dogs, due to the Sicilian dwarf elephant's higher intelligence, awareness, boldness, and being nonaggressive (unlike wild Sicilian dwarf elephants, probably due to genetic engineering).
