Toy Trawler Spaniel

The Toy Trawler Spaniel is a breed of Spaniel which physically is similar to the King Charles Spaniel of the 16th century. It is considered to have descended from the original King Charles Spaniel, and the older variety of the Sussex Spaniel. It was originally used as a sporting dog, but became used as a toy and show dog. It was considered to be on the verge of extinction by 1920 and was once extinct since then, but has since been brought back from extinction by SciiFii due to demands for more de-extincted dog breeds as common household pets. The head is small and light, with an upwards tip on its short black nose. The top of the skull is flat and not dome-shaped, and has long ears set forward. Its coat is generally feathered quite long and is curly but not woolly, and its body is quite solidly built. Its height is variable, ranging from 11–13 inches (28–33 centimeters) at the withers on average, although examples are given at 9 inches (23 centimeters), with proportionate weight given for a 13 inches (33 centimeters) high dog weighing 15 pounds (6.8 kilograms). The preferred colour is black with a white waistcoat, then red with a white waistcoat, but they also come in black and white and red and white. They are often very sweet, but also very bold and courageous, with timidity considered to be a fault in the show ring.
