The walrein (Neodobenus pokevus) is a species of large walrus that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii due to demands for real life Pokémon-like animals from Pokémon fans, and unlike most pinnipeds, despite its massive size, walreins make good pets due to their docile and tame nature as well as having a wide meaty diet. However, they have been released to the shorelines and freshwater habitats across Great Britian, mainland Eurasia, and North America by some careless pet owners. The walrein has a patch of white fur growing on its blue skin, unlike common walruses (Odobenus rosmarus), usually on its head and neck, though individuals with white fur growing all over their bodies have been known. The walrein can grow to be about the size of a common walrus, its closest living relative, growing to be around 2.2 to 3.6 meters (7 ft 3 in to 11 ft 10 in) and weigh about as much as 2,000 kg (4,400 lb). The walreins are carnivorous and primarily feeds on crustaceans, mollusks, and squid, although fish can be eaten as a supplementary diet. They can live to be around 30-40 years in the wild, although walreins in captivity can live much longer, usually around 70-90 years if properly cared for. The walreins are social animals that can live in groups of around 10-15 at a time, although the groups are much larger during breeding seasons, with the largest recorded walrein group estimated around 500 in a coastal region of Japan. The gestation periods of walrieins can be around 9-10 months, shorter than the gestation period of common walruses, and female walreins can give birth to around 2-3 calves, which are also known as spheals. The walreins are not hunted for their tusks due to lacking ivory in their tusks, unlike common walruses, instead the walreins have stronger tusks to make up for lacking ivory in their tusks, and this helps keep walreins safe from any poachers and/or native hunters. The conservation status of the walrein is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts, the walrein's wide range, and its tolerance to most of human activities, including being able to flourish and adapt to life in the coastal cities and suburbs, even including public beaches and seal docks.
